• 6. Insert the needle tip into the top of the rubber stopper of the vial of bacteriostatic water and slowly pull back on the syringe plunger drawing out 3 mL of water into the syringe before pulling the needle out of the rubber stopper

• 10. Recap the needle, twist it off the syringe, and discard the needle in the Sharps container and the empty syringe in the trash
